Join Us in Supporting Flood Recovery Efforts in Texas

Bringing Aid to Communities in Recovery

We are partnering with our good friends at Texas Iberico® to raise funds to help flood victims affected by the recent catastrophic floods in Texas Hill Country. La Tienda will donate all profits from sales on the weekend of August 16th and 17th to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

La Tienda's mission is to support small family suppliers of artisan Spanish foods. Our close partner at Trails End Ranch, who raise Texas Iberico®'s purebred Iberico pigs, is a family operation, one small ranching family and their partners bringing the traditions of Spain to the US by raising purebred Spanish Iberico pigs on the open pastures of the Texas Hill Country. We want to support them and their community during this difficult time. Media coverage has shifted elsewhere, but the recovery efforts will go on for years.

While our family is proud to offer our modest donation, there is much more needed to aid in the recovery. If you are able to donate directly, click the link below to learn more.

DONATE NOW

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country—a 501(c)(3) public charity —will directly distribute funds to vetted local organizations providing rescue, relief, recovery services and flood assistance. All donations are tax-deductible, and you will receive a receipt for your gift.

A Note from Texas Iberico®

"Water is a paradox out here in Texas. Texas Iberico® was born in drought, and just weeks before the storm I stood on a hillside of long‑awaited green pasture, watching healthy, curious pigs root through the soft soil. Water gives life—but, as we were reminded, it can also take a heavy swing.

That hope‑to‑hardship whiplash is part of agriculture in Texas—and in life. Resilience isn’t forged alone; it’s built in community, with neighbors checking on neighbors when the weather breaks hard. Anyone who’s worked livestock country after a big rain knows the scene: mud everywhere, fences down, but the work keeps going because animals don’t pause for floods.

Cleanup will take time—on the land, in our hearts, and across the networks that carry food, animals, and livelihoods through this region. Yet we remain steady, grateful, and determined.

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and for believing in small agriculture and resilient food systems. Your support means more than words can say."

With gratitude and Texas in our hearts,

Sondra Crawford, Texas Iberico®
