If you’ve enjoyed rich almond marzipan before, then you’ll fall head over heels for yema, a lighter version made in Spain. Handmade by the widely acclaimed producer ‘1880,’ this confection is a mixture of Marcona almonds, egg yolks and sugar. Each bite of the silky treat is a delight: you may find yourself yearning for mornings at the seaside cafes of Valencia, with a slice of yema and a hot cup of coffee.
In the kitchens of 1880, ground Marcona almonds are mixed by hand with silky Spanish honey and rich egg yolks. The result is a soft nougat of the highest quality.
This confection is a wonderful sweet surprise at breakfast or brunch, especially with a rich cup of coffee. Sometimes, we bring it out with dessert, a treat that our friends who’ve visited Spain recognize immediately, and a surprising treat for those who haven't!
Almond, sugar, egg yolk (10.75%), glucose syrup, water, stabilizer (sorbitol), preserving agents (sorbic acid, potassium sorbate), flavor. May contain traces of tree nuts, milk and soy.

"This and all the other 1880 products we ordered were fantastic. La mejor calidad de turrón que he probado. Mejores que los de mi infancia!"
Patricia - Boulder Creek, CA December 2018
"I was utterly totally disappointed. I’m from Spain, I’ve talked extensively to my friends and family in California about turron, then we got this that is half of a bar of what you would get in a similar container in Spain for a portion of the price. To conclude the flavor was awful because it was dry. Never again."
