Guindilla Peppers

Guindilla Peppers

Tangy Basque Peppers in Wine Vinegar - 4.5 oz

  • Featured in Food & Wine magazine
  • Nice moderate spiciness
  • Tangy, sweet, and delicious!
  • Size - 4.5 oz - About 40 peppers

These spicy-sweet little peppers are a favorite treat in the Basque Country.

The thin green peppers are picked early and packed in white wine vinegar creating a tangy and perfectly spicy treat. (They have the heat of something like a banana pepper but they are more delicate and complex.)

They are a favorite with guests. We find that they disappear very quickly and pair perfectly with a good cheese and a crisp white wine.

"Flavor, texture and heat very similar to good fresh pepperoncini. Goes well with cheese"

"Crisp, fresh and delicious. So many other products I have tried to buy are soggy and flat. I loved these."

"Wow! Spicy, but not to much. A great refreshing bite to a tapas platter. Mostly, now I've tried them, I can't wait to use them for a Bloody Mary! "

"These peppers are a pleasant addition to a meal. They're not too hot but have a zip to them."

"These are really really good finger food - spicy but not too hot and with a nice vinegar base (love vinegar) - we've tried several different brands and they all rock."

"The peppers were slightly disappointing in that they are very mld tasting. Their color, texture and remarkable packing in their jar, is good. I simply expected more flavor ,and have poured a little olive oil on them when serving."

"My husband and I love these as a snack, ordering 3 this time so there may be some left to make tapas. Mucho gracias"

"These are insanely good! If you like anything pickled with a little kick, you will love these. I ate the entire jar in two days. They are pickled in white wine vinegar, which adds a complexity to them to make them taste even better than most pickled products. "

"Absolutely wonderful! They do have a bit of a kick but really great flavor. Complimented our bread, cheese and wine very well."

"The guindillas peppers are uniquely delicious. I made the featured tapas of manchego, jamon & peppers and served them with a chilled pinot gris on a hot summer night. On that evening we lived happily ever after. (the fire factor was mild for my palate so combined with the other elements they worked with the wine)"
