Bonito del Norte is an exceptional tuna. Caught by hand using pole and hook as they have for generations, the fishermen of Galicia guarantee the finest quality. Once on shore in the famed port of Burela, the Bonito del Norte is poached in sea water and packed by hand in olive oil. The result is a rich, mild and tender tuna unlike any other.
The delicate flavor and texture of Bonito tuna is preserved by the dolphin-safe line-catching method, as it avoids the stress caused by harvesting by net. Enjoy flakes of this delicious tuna in salads, sandwiches or as a stuffing for piquillo peppers.
Burela, an ancient fishing port on the Galician coast, is famed for the quality of its Bonito del Norte harvest. During the season, our friends at Conservas de Cambados visit the market at Burela and select the finest fish for their premium cannery. The Bonito del Norte tuna is cut by hand and placed in each can and covered with olive oil.
Once you experience silky smooth Bonito del Norte, you may never buy another tin of ordinary tuna!
