For years we've searched for a holder for slicing a boneless Serrano or Ibérico ham that was both sturdy and gripped the ham well. This beautiful and innovative piece exceeded our expectations. Solid stainless steel hardware and a striking ebony surface make it a thing of beauty. But the key addition is the suction table grip.
Simply genius! Place the holder on a typical table, pull the stainless knob upright and it is immediately secured! This is very important, because boneless hams weigh much less than a bone-in ham. Because the weight of the ham is not enough to hold it down, it is very important that it be secured so you can be safe and cut perfect slices.
The other great idea is the low profile gripping hardware of this 'jamonero.' It is strong enough to clasp a whole ham securely, but short enough to allow you to cut down to the very bottom of the ham. Also, boneless hams need to be refrigerated and the small size of this holder allows you to put the ham and holder in the fridge together.
The real ebony wood veneer is gorgeous and offset perfectly with the stainless steel. It is easily stowed when not in use.
Clean by hand with soap and water. If you are in a pinch, this holder can hold bone-in hams as well.

"I have had my ebony jamon holder for two weeks now and absolutely love it! Small enough to hold boneless jamons or prosciuttos up to four pounds or so very securely as the suction cup beneath allows firm adherence to your counter top. This holder is very attractive and the hardware is at the bottom of your jamon out of your way. The small size fits right in your refrigerator, so I simply wrap mine in a thick plastic bag and store without having to remove the jamon each time. Allow your jamon to reach room temp before slicing with an Arcos brand flexible blade knife, designed specifically for the purpose and you will produce perfect, see-through slices!"
