What a beautiful work of art this is -- and a perfect wall decoration. The Spaniards use it to serve a crisp garden salad, ensalada mixta. We often prepare salads on this plate with fresh tomatoes, sweet onions and cucumbers, on a bed of spring greens. What is unusual is the lip around the plate, an edge that contains the contents.
