Ramón Peña chooses only finest little sardines every morning at auction. Within hours the fish are cleaned, then grilled and hand-packed one piece at a time into each tin. Whole Padrón peppers are fried, then one or two are placed on top of the peppers. The tin is filled with olive oil and sealed. The result is an exceptionally fresh sardine, with a tender bite and fresh Padrón pepper taste.

Sardines are a very healthy food, packed with beneficial amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The freshness of Ramón Peña sardines preserves the healthful qualities of the fish.

Padrón peppers from Galicia are famed across Spain. This little green pepper is fried in oil then sprinkled with salt and eaten as a tapa. Most are mild and delicious, but every once in a while you will get a very spicy one! Ramón Peña added this famous pepper to add a taste of the local Galician cuisine.

Situated in the northwest of Spain, Galicia is surrounded by cool, clean Atlantic waters that support a vibrant fishing tradition. In Spain canned seafood is acknowledged as a gourmet product, and small producers like Ramón Peña are meticulous about providing premium quality seafood to its customers.
