Legends say that rocoto peppers (sometimes known as locotos) were grown and used 5,000 years ago by the Incas, Aymaras and Quechuas. This bright, colorful pepper has a sweet, citrusy taste. But it is best known for its fiery hot flavor! And we mean hot...in a league with habanero peppers. Use this paste to add a bold flavor to your ceviche, grilled meats or anticuchos.
This exotic pepper still grows in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador and it’s charged by antioxidants and vitamins C. The paste is made from selected rocotos to enjoy with your favorite meat, fish, poultry or simply any dish.
