Sale Artisan Spanish Pisto
  • Flavorful and healthy!
  • Fresh vegetables and piquillo peppers
  • All natural, cooked in olive oil
  • Use as a dip or in place of tomato sauce
  • Size - 11.2 oz/320 g

From Navarra, a region known for its outstanding array of produce, this artisan Spanish pisto is made with fresh tomatoes, zucchini, onion, eggplant and piquillo peppers. The finely chopped vegetables are slowly cooked with olive oil to allow the natural flavors to mingle and meld into a dish with a stew-like texture perfect for a variety of recipes.

Although it originated in Castilla la Mancha, pisto is now a favorite throughout Spain. This thick and chunky pisto is vibrant and complex. Sometimes we just open up the jar and dip into it just as it is! It's fantastic with bread or crackers, tapas or any recipe that usually calls for a rich flavorful tomato sauce. Similar to ratatouille, it can be used as a filling for empanadillas or savory crepes or even as a pasta sauce.

Use within 3 days of opening.

Tomato, zucchini, onion, eggplant, piquillo pepper, olive oil, sugar and salt.

"I loved these sauteed vegetables (now you are calling them pisto) so much I was delighted to find them again on La Tienda. They are seasoned just right -- delicious."

"This is addictive. Even after we served it warm on crusty bread, I found myself grabbing the jar out of the fridge and eating it cold, straight out of the jar. It reminds me of ratatouille and has many of the same ingredients. "

"This sauce is so very delicious - so much flavor packed into every spoonful. We've started using it as a base for a variety of dishes but it's also great on its own."
