Sepia is a much loved seafood in Spain. Similar to calamari, sepia (cuttlefish) are meatier, with a rich fresh flavor and almost no fishiness. Our sepia are harvested in Spain, sliced and fully cooked with fresh parsley. Simply sauté in olive oil for a tasty tapa, or add to your next seafood paella.
Our favorite way to enjoy sepia is sautéed with a garlic and parsley sauce. Mix a few tablespoons of parsley, two garlic cloves and a 1/4 cup of olive oil in a blender and add to the hot griddle or pan for a minute or two, then pour over the hot sepia. Wonderful!
Cuttlefish can also be added to your favorite paella recipe or seafood salad.
This sliced sepia can be stored for a few weeks in the refrigerator, but should be used quickly once out of the package.
