Hand harvesting, fermenting in open oak French barrels, punching the must's bulky cap down by hand several times daily is just the beginning. Each evening the few barrels of Cau del Gat that are produced are taken outside for November's brisk air to slow fermentation nearly to a halt. Once completed, the wine is then aged in new oak. The objective is a wine of maximum extraction and the result is a wine of utter intensity. Simply put, this is one of our absolute favorites.

Composition: Garnacha

From the highest altitude vineyard terraces of Priorat's world renowned winemaking village of Gratallops, Trossos del Priorat offers us a taste of the next wave of Priorat. Purposefully aged in tight grained, neutral French barrels to allow an honest expression of their world class fruit, this hand-made gem from the Vives family represents a stylistic departure from the over-oaked and overpowerful Priorat. Lo Petit is elegant Priorat on display.

Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Tempranillo

Known for the best values the world of wine has to offer, Spain's reputation in today's market-place is enhanced by young wines like Castillo Ducay. Rich, luscious fruit is on center-stage in this juicy representation of youthful Spanish reds.

Composition: Tempranillo

We feel Crianza wines are one of Spain's most emblematic gifts to the rest of the world. Literally translating to "matured" or "aged", well-made Crianza's offer consistency, complexity, and balance. Twelve months in oak barrel and another year in the cellar before being released to the market, this Tempranillo Crianza from Ribera del Duero is quintessential Spain. Pair this as one would in Spain, with roasted, grilled, or stewed red meat. Ready-to-drink now, this Crianza also offers the patient consumer another 5-8 years of ageability.

Composition: Treixadura, Godello, Torrontes, Albariño

"To make the best wine, we need the best grapes", insists viticulturalist and winemaker, Antonio Cajide. Though seemingly a statement of the obvious, one-trip to Antonio's vineyards and his passionate dedication to this philosophy becomes abundantly clear. His small vineyards, occupying the highest altitude plots of Spain's famous white wine region of Ribeiro, are immaculate and put larger wineries practices to shame. The art behind 'hand-crafted' wines starts in the vineyard, which is why Antonio works his dry-farmed plots exclusively by hand. The result is a wine of great finesse, balance, and character. With Vina do Avo, Antonio provides us with a proper introduction to the world of Spain's best white wines.

Composition: Verdejo, Viura

Surrounded by a smattering of enchanting medieval villages, Spain's most expansive province of Castilla y Leon is littered with castles of great historical significance. Once a vanguard of the centuries long battle to expel the moors, the high golden plateus of Rueda are now the vanguard of one of Spain's most beloved native grape varieties, Verdejo. Isabelino is a perfect introduction to the region's modern day focus, crisp, fruit-driven, easy-drinking white wines.

NOTE: Orders containing wine require an adult signature upon delivery. There is an adult signature charge for any order containing wine of approximately $4.90.
