The joy of all of the children of Spain is available through La Tienda! Since I did not spend my childhood in Spain, I must admit that I cannot sing the Cola Cao song by heart - but I am working on it! If you were born in Spain, as are many in the La Tienda community, I bet you are humming the song right now.
This is the same recipe of Cola Cao that is sold in Spain. Each of the extra large jars makes about 24 servings.
Cola Cao appeared in the Spanish marketplace in 1946, but its popularity grew fast in 1950 when the manufacturer introduced a radio soap opera commercial which featured a catchy tune. From that moment on sales exploded until now 100 million pounds of Cola Cao are produced annually --- more than a kilo of Cola per Spaniard each year! Cola Cao is no longer a food product, it has become part of what is the culture of Spain -- much as are Maria cookies and the black Osborne bull that stands on hilltops throughout the country. Cola Cao is an integral part of the Spanish way of life.

"This is the product that led me to La Tienda in the first place. During a family vacation in Madrid (our first visit to Spain), our younger son couldn't get enough of the Cola Cao packets they served at the hotel breakfast. Before he went off to college, I decided to look for a place I could buy it in the U.S. and discovered La Tienda. Give Cola Cao a try - it's smooth and creamy."

"Of course the product is AWESOME, I have been taking it for almost 30 years now. I know the product because I'm Spanish and that's MY breakfast!! I LOVE IT!! I can't do without it! The delivery was within 24hours, something startling! However, it's a little bit pricy. This is 400grs and costs the same as the 800gr-1 kilo one in Spain!! Apart from that the shipping costs were quite high too, I've bought online lot of stuff and they normally include S&H or they charge you a symbolic amount 2 to 4$."
