Empanadas are one of the most traditional Argentine dishes. These tiny, hand held pastries are usually served as appetizers or snacks at parties. Make your own empanadas at home, in the same manner as many Argentinians, with these premade empanada shells.

To prepare your own empanadas, simply thaw these shells, stuff them with your choice of filling and bake until golden brown. Spicy beef filled empanadas are the most popular variety in Argentina but you can fill them with chicken, pork, seafood, cheese, vegetables or any combination of the above. The possibilities are endless!

Almost every culture in the world makes some variety of these small baked pies. Traditionally served as a tapas or appetizer dish, they make a fantastic party food as eating them requires no utensils and they can be eaten any time of day.

"I lived in Argentina for several years and my choice for tapas for empanadas was usually La Saltena. I have used Fargo many times. I was impressed with the packaging. One of my packs para hornear was open. I used it first and it was fine. I've missed being able to make empanadas so am thrilled to have La Tienda as a resource. Will be buying some more."

"The packaging for this product was sub-par and the product was not superior to those available in my local market. Both bags of shells had tears in them upon arriving. Despite this, I went forward with making empanadas. Approximately every-other shell torn when I was trying to work with them (not overfilled, but even when moving them to position for filling) so this was not a good value. I would have been better off buying pie crust or an alternative from my local grocery store."

"Look easy to use but packaging splits easily on side."
