Puya chilli peppers are a delicious pepper from the Central Valley of Mexico. Lesser known than the popular guajillo, they are spicier, with a more complex fruity flavor. These dried whole peppers are typically seeded, soaked and pulverized into a paste or sauce which adds amazing flavor classic Mexican dishes and grilled meats. It is a delicious ingredient in moles, soups and stews.
Puya peppers are thin and medium hot, about five inches long. They are carefully dried and packed in plastic for freshness. Each bag holds about 40 peppers. They are produced by Orale foods.
