Pasilla chile peppers are a popular Mexican pepper, a key ingredient in dishes like enchiladas and mole sauces. They have a mild spiciness but are treasured for their dynamic earthy flavor with notes of smoke and raisin. In fact, Pasilla comes from the Spanish word for raisin - "Pasa." These dried whole peppers can be chopped and sprinkled on tortilla soups or enchiladas, or soaked in water for a smoother texture. You can toast the peppers to bring out their fullest flavor.

You will recieve about 9 medium sized peppers per package. They are dense and full of flavor. You can chop them with their seeds, or without, depending on how hot you want them. If you soak them, let them sit for about 20 minutes, but no more because they can become bitter.

Store in a cool dark place.
