- The best croquetas in the world!
- Made with flaky salt cod
- One of Spain's most famous tapas
- Made with extra virgin olive oil
- Handmade in the Basque country
- Size - 2 x 14 oz/400 gr
With their crunchy breaded exterior and creamy, savory cod fish filling, we think these are some of the best croquetas you'll find anywhere in the world! Ready in just minutes, you'll delight your family and friends when you present a plate of our croquetas at your next dinner party.
Handmade by local women in Oikina, a village in the Basque country, our croquettes are individually made by Yurrita with only the very best all-natural ingredients. The filling is made with fresh milk delivered daily from a local creamery and the olive oil used is always extra virgin. Made with bacalao (salt cod), these are probably better than any croquetas you'll find anywhere, even in tapas bars in Spain!
It couldn't be easier to enjoy this delicious Spanish tapa at home. Using a deep fryer or a pan filled with at least 2 inches of oil preheated to 375 degrees, cook in small batches for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the croquetas to a serving plate with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
Keep frozen until ready to cook.
Whole milk, wheat flour, cod, onion, sunflower oil, extra virgin olive oil, dextrin, corn starch, guar gum and salt.
CONTAINS WHEAT, MILK AND COD.

"These are hit and miss. There have been times where we get them, and cook them and they are great. Other times, I cook them and it turns into one big thing of mush. When they turn out, they are delicious!!"

"This is the first time I have tried these; or, for that matter, anything like them. I have to say I was hooked with the first bite. Some reviewers have mentioned that the croquettes were thawed upon arrival and made cooking them difficult. Mine, too, were thawed, but I was not surprised, as they had a good distance to travel. My first batch did turn out mushy and did not hold their shape, but I fixed the problem by starting out with very hot oil in a non-stick pan and the problem was solved. I will definitely be ordering these again. If life ever returns to normal, they will be added to my New Year's Eve menu."

"Not pleased with the inside texture. I followed directions and expected the interior of croquettes to be similar to mashed potatoes. The texture was very thick and pasty. Did not care for them at all. Will not order again. "

"The croquettes arrived not fully frozen & thus, when I cooked them, they started breaking apart and turning into mush. It is too bad, because I think that this is a good product had it arrived in the right condition. Being from Spain, I missed my mom’s croquetas a lot!"
Maite - Birmingham October 2018
"Taste was fantastic but arrived fully thawed so we had to cook both bags much sooner than we wanted to. "

"A little embarrassed to say that I did not eat Croquetas de balacao while I spend 1 month in Spain. So thankful that la tienda sells these that I can try them without traveling. Crunchy on the outside and soft and melting on the inside. It needs dipping sauce. Fill your pan with oil to a level that covers the bottom half of the Croquetas, and wait until it's hot to add them. And as they turn golden, roll them over to fry the other half side. Do not drown these in the oil or they will turn out to be soggy. These Croquetas de balacao taste better than the Croquetas that I eat around tapas bars and Latin American restaurants in my town. "
