TASTING NOTES:
90 points - [Refers to 2010 vintage] - "The 2010 Nora (100% Albarino) saw 10% of the wine fermented and aged sur lie in French oak. It displays a similar aromatic and flavor profile as the Peitan but with a creamier texture, and greater depth, concentration, and length. It is an outstanding value for drinking over the next 3 years." -The Wine Advocate
91 points - [Refers to previous vintage] - "Vivid gold. Stonier and more piercing than the Peitan, even though this one saw a little oak, displaying scents of citrus zest, chalk and white pepper. A floral quality emerges with air and complements the nervy grapefruit and lime flavors. Suggestions of tarragon and fresh bay linger on a long, focused and very lively finish. I'd love to drink a couple of bottles of this with about six dozen oysters." -Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, November/December 2010.
PRODUCER NOTES:
"This wine was born on the banks of the Miño, the great river of Galicia. Here it flows slowly through its last leg of its long journey to the Atlantic. The vineyards are surrounded by pine and eucalyptus forests and the ruins of ancient Celtic fortresses. In the midst of this poetic landscape, Albariño, the queen of Spanish white varietals, ripens slowly. The wine draws your attention with aromas of ripe apples and peaches. On the palate, Nora has an excellent balance of fresh fruit flavors and rich silky texture."
