92 Points - "Black cherry and black plum flavors show focus and depth in this rich, polished red. Espresso and mineral notes add complexity, and there's a firm core of well-integrated tannins. Drink now through 2014." — Wine Spectator, November 30, 2007.

92 Points - "The 2005 Emilio Moro is purple-colored with a complex bouquet of wood smoke, toast, crushed stone, and blackberry. Supple, ripe, and forward, this tasty wine will evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now through 2015." — The Wine Advocate, February 2008.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The Moro family has been making wine in Ribera del Duero for more than 120 years. The family owns 173 acres of vineyards in several parcels within Pesquera de Duero. They are located at 1,950 ft in elevation on the banks of the Duero River. The vineyards used for Emilio Moro wines are 10-25 years old. On the other hand, the vineyards used for Malleolus are 25-75 years old. The oldest vines, over 80 years old, are in Malleolus de Valderramiro wine.
