Stains the palate with dark berry compote and spicecake flavors, with zesty minerality adding cut. Blends depth and vivacity smoothly, finishing with impressive clarity, a kiss of vanillin oak and lingering sweetness." -Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

TASTING NOTES:
[Refers to 2008 vintage] - 90 Points - "The 2008 Emilio Moro comes from vineyards ranging in age from 15 to 25 years and was aged for 12 months in seasoned French and American oak. It sports a pleasing perfume of balsam wood, clove, cinnamon, tapenade, mineral, and blackberry leading to a wine of considerable elegance with 2-3 years of aging potential. This savory, spicy effort will deliver optimum drinking from 2013 to 2020." -Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

[Refers to 2008 vintage] - 91 Points - "Full ruby. Pungent aromas of red and dark berry preserves, Asian spices and vanilla, with slow-building smokiness. Creamy black raspberry and floral pastille flavors are complemented by a deeper note of licorice and lifted by tangy acidity. The finish echoes the sweet dark berry and floral notes and lingers with excellent tenacity. This lively wine is delicious right now." -Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar.

[Refers to 2007 vintage] - 92 Points - "Opaque ruby. Brooding cherry and blackberry aromas are complemented by smoked meat, minerals and anise. Sappy dark berry flavors stain the palate and are braced by zesty minerals and dusty tannins. Gains weight and sweetness on the finish, which repeats the dark berry note and lingers impressively." -Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, September/October 2008.
