"Intense purplish red color and aroma of ripe red fruits (cranberries, redcurrant and bilberry), with vanilla notes. Since it is aged in barrels for only a short time, in mouth it is warm, meaty, potent and persistent, with an aftertaste that stands out for its special, spiced varietal character.

Ideal to serve with red and white meats, fowl, wild game, roast lamb, stewed legumes and cured and blue cheeses."

COMPOSITION: Grenache and Cariñena

"We select traditionally grown old low production Grenache and Cariñena vines and hand harvest the grapes when slightly overripe. We complete the coupage with Syrah vines, the grapes being hand harvested at optimal maturity. The must is macerated with the grape skins for 12 days. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 23ºC. After the malolactic fermentation, we begin the aging of each variety, also separately, in American oak barrels. The wine continues to age in the bottle until achieving its characteristic bouquet.

The wines of D.O. Montsant are produced in the south of Catalonia, in a rugged mountainous area adjoining the Q.D.O. Priorat. The vineyards ascend the mountain sides, to an altitude of 200 to 700 meters. The soil consists of granitic sand, poor in organic material and with a small capacity for water retention. The climate is cold and dry.
