- Made with Tempranillo grapes
- Moderate oak aging
- Persistent, flavorful taste
[Refers to 2006 vintage] - "Bodegas Exeo is a project of three brothers from a generations-old winemaking family who are making Rioja in a modern style driven more by fruit than oak. The Letras, available primarily at restaurants, succeeds because it beautifully expresses tempranillo's character of cherry with earthy notes of tobacco. -The Washington Post
COMPOSITION: 100% Tempranillo
VINTNER'S NOTES: "Letras is the combination of fruits, smoked and mineral aromas with great persistence and flavorful taste. The wine has the elegant profile of the new generation of Riojas, with great purity of fruit and moderate oak aging."
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Bodegas Exeo was created by two friends, Carlos Fernandez y Francisco Astudillo, with the idea of having fun with what they love the most: wine. They acquired three vineyards in Labastida with clay and sandy soils in order to assure homogeny and maturity of the grapes. A project like this is a challenge in the La Rioja region as there are a large number of wineries and it is very difficult for new ventures to take off and make a difference.
The 2006 Letras Tempranillo is only the second bottling from Bodegas Exeo. This elegant wine was moderately aged in oak barrels and made with the very best grapes. Bodegas Exeo firmly believes that only the best grapes should be used in their wine and they personally selected the vineyards in order to create a wine full of character, personality and passion.
