88 Points - "Seductive caramel, toffee and hazelnut aromas lead to an equally nutty palate that features more maple and more toffee. Not the most complex Sherry going; it's more forward and easy to grasp, so novices should enjoy the sweet and salty mix and the marathon-length finish." -Michael Schachner

TASTING NOTES:
"Osborne Amontillado has a crisp bouquet and exquisite taste. It is a medium dry sherry with a brisk nutty flavor, a pungent aroma and a rich caramel color. Due to this sherry's extended aging, it is smooth and sensuous to the palate. Osborne Amontillado has a distinctive finesse that enriches consomme and enhances its flavor. This sherry may be served chilled or at room temperature and is an excellent accompaniment to many soups and semi-soft cheeses, as well as smoked salmon, caviar or pate." -Wine Enthusiast

Amontillado Sherry takes its name from the Montilla region of Spain where it was originally produced. Amontillado has a darker color and richer flavor than Fino Sherry. It is usually served lightly chilled. Amontillado is typically served as an aperitif with almonds, olives and many types of cheeses. It can also be served with chicken or rabbit and was classically paired with soups such a beef consomme.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Made by Osborne, a centuries old family business famous all over the world for their sherries. Osborne's wineries in Puerto de Santa Maria were designed specifically for sherry production. The buildings face South and Southwest to catch the sea breeze. They also feature high ceilings to allow the fresh sea air to circulate. Both of these factors are essential for producing a perfect sherry wine.

Osborne's sherry casks are made of American oak that allows the wine to "breathe" through the wood's pores. Casks are never filled to the brim and the top is never fully sealed. The air that seeps in guarantees some oxidation - a key to making sherry wine.

Over the generations, the Osborne family has managed a company devoted to making and aging sherry wine that is appreciated around the world. Osborne honors the long family tradition of quality sherry production while being enthusiastic about growth and innovation.
