At the end of the 1980’s, Antonio Catalan, along with a group of friends and colleagues from his hotel chain, decided to create a bodega. It was at this time that the shareholder Juan Ignacio Velasco, owner of la Navarra Distilleries, came into the picture. It did not take long for Velasco to get sales moving and place Marco Real wines in well-known national and international markets.
