- The New York Times The classic aged Rueda whites made this area famous in Europe centuries ago. Today most wineries make young, very expressive and fruity wines, with herb undertones, slightly bitter on the finish, and, in most cases, full bodied. The Verdejo grape is small and has a thick, green/yellow skin and green/white pulp.
