Handwoven in Andalucía, each of our rustic esparto grass baskets are a unique work of art. Dried esparto grass has been used for thousands of years in Spain. It was integral to the olive oil pressing process until a few decades ago, when the esparto mats were replaced with more modern materials. It was also used to make saddles, durable bags and hundreds of other uses.
