Cazuelas, terra cotta dishes, have been used in Spain for literally thousands of years -- from the humblest home to the grandest manor house. Terra cotta is basic earth, low fired with an interior glaze.

A 4.5-inch diameter dish is a handy size to serve tapas such as olives, almonds, caperberries etc. Put an extra one beside the other dishes for olive pits or stems.

The glaze on the cazuelas contains no lead. It is safe for all cooking applications, although it must be presoaked in water if you are to use it on the stove. I prefer to be on the safe side and use them only in the oven. It is 1 inch deep.  (more info)

Las cazuelas se han utilizado en España literalmente durante miles de años; desde la casa más humilde a la mansión más grandiosa. Están hechas de barro básico, hecho a fuego lento con vidriado en el interior.

El tamaño de 4.5 pulgadas es muy adecuado para servir tapas como las aceitunas, almendras, alcaparras, etc. Ponga uno más al lado de los otros para los huesos de las aceitunas. El vidriado de las cazuelas no tiene plomo. Es seguro para todas las cocinas, aunque se debe sumergir en agua si tiene intención de usarlo en los fuegos. Yo prefiero andar sobre seguro y usarlos sólo en el horno. Tiene una profundidad de una pulgada.
