Celebrity chef Karlos Arguinano shares more than 100 recipes from his TV show.

Karlos is a chef, very popular TV presenter and producer.

His devotion to cuisine started when he was a child and helped at home due to the fact that he was the eldest of four brothers and had a disabled mother.

When he was 17 years old, he decided to take part in a course at the Escuela de Hostelería del Hotel Euromar where he was taught during three years the main principles of cooking by Luis Irizar. Arguiñano's has had a hotel-restaurant in the Zarautz beach since 1978, which has three Michelin Guide stars.

He was one of the first TV chefs in Spain with his cook show, La cocina de Karlos Arguiñano, first on Euskal Telebista, later in Televisión Española, Telecinco, Argentinian ATC and now in La Sexta. Arguiñano combines recipe preparation with tips, jokes and amateur singing. His sister Eva Arguiñano has also appeared in TV, usually in the dessert section of the show. He has taken control of the show through his production company Asegarce. Asegarce also controls a big part of the professional Basque pelota business and is one of the owning companies of the TV channel La Sexta. (close)
