Tapas for the Holidays
This year, why not add the flavors of Spain to your Holiday menus? Traditional Spanish tapas such as artisan sheep's milk Manchego, tangy Basque guindilla peppers or hand-sliced Jamón Ibérico will be the hit of the appetizer course! We've gathered some of our favorite tapas below, along with tips and easy serving suggestions.
Duo of Sliced Jamon Iberico and Jamon Iberico de Bellota Serve some fabulous Spanish Jamón

The cured hams of Spain are among the world's best, and little known in the U.S. Why not sample these delectable hams this Holiday season? Jamón Serrano is a favorite in Spain, and Jamón Ibérico is a national treasure. Simply bring to room temperature and serve!

Duo of Sliced Jamon Iberico and Jamon Iberico de Bellota, $74.95
Imported Sliced Jamon Serrano, $17.95

Stuffed Piquillo Peppers Prepare some Manchego-stuffed piquillo peppers

Insert small wedges of Manchego cheese into fire-roasted piquillo peppers - it's easy to do since they're essentially the same shape. Warm up a little olive oil in a frying pan and cook the peppers over medium heat until they are nice and warm. Since it's a hard cheese, the Manchego will not fully melt, but the flavors will meld beautifully.

Villajos Artisan Manchego Cheese, $38.50
Fire-Roasted Piquillo Peppers, $9.95

Authentic Cooking Chorizo Tasty appetizers in a flash - Spanish chorizo sausage

Preparing a plate of sliced chorizo takes no time at all, and offers one of Spain's most distinctive foods. Spear chorizo slices with toothpicks, serve with some olives and crusty bread, and you have the perfect Spanish tapa: simple, tasty and authentic.

Palacios slicing chorizo from Spain, $8.50
Galician style slicing chorizo, $6.95
Cantimpalo Slicing Chorizo, $36.50

Artisan Cheeses from Spain Sample Spain's fine artisan cheese

Share your flavor discoveries with friends and family! From the buttery, mild Tetilla to the bold blue Cabrales, you are sure to find a new favorite.

Tetilla Cheese, D.O., $22.50
Cabrales Blue Cheese from Asturias, D.O., $34.95 Artisan Villajos Semi-Aged Manchego Cheese, $39.95

Try membrillo instead of cranberry sauce

Spanish membrillo brings the flavors of quince to your table - the quince jelly makes a perfect counterpoint to Manchego cheese during the appetizer course, or a novel subsitute for cranberry sauce during the main event.

Artisan Membrillo (Quince Jelly) in Wood Gift Box, normally $19.95, now $17.95

Holiday Wine Trio Include a selection of Spain's incredible wines!

Whenever we visit Spain to meet our vendors or catch up with old friends, we inevitably gather around a table covered with delicious foods, paired with Spain's excellent wines. We've picked three of our favorites reflecting that generosity of spirit, for you to share with friends and family

Holiday Wine Trio, normally $84.40, now $59.00
2005 Altos de Luzon, $21.95
2008 Vina Godeval, $18.50
1999 Luna Beberide Reserva Tinto, $21.95

Don't forget the sweet Spanish finish

Who could resist a platter of chocolate stuffed Rabitos, paired with coffee, fruit and your family's other traditional desserts? Each Rabito is a tender fig smothered in dark chocolate, inside and out. Picked as the best confection at the New York Fancy Food Show.

Rabitos Royale Gourmet Dark Chocolate-stuffed Fig Bonbons, normally $19.95, now $17.95
