These small batch olive oils will delight the olive oil lover with a variety of flavors in beautiful custom bottles. Made on a family owned olive grove, each oil is pressed hours after harvest to capture the freshest, fullest flavor. Three styles are included: an organic coupage, Seville orange and natural vanilla. All are packed in an elegant white gift box.
Our friends at Basilippo care intensely about their land and the olive oil they make. This family olive grove outside of Sevilla is tended lovingly to create some of the finest olive oils we have ever tasted. The resulting cold pressed olive oil has a full, balanced flavor.
First, the Basilippo organic extra virgin olive oil is a blend of fruity Arbequina and smooth Manzanilla oils. These two olives have a pleasant herbal flavor, with hints of tomato and artichoke. It is a delicious medium intensity oil with a lot of versatility in the kitchen, especially on salads, pastas or for dipping with fresh bread.
The second oil is pressed with just-harvested olives and fresh Seville orange peels, adding the natural essence of orange to the oil. Sprinkle this silky smooth, aromatic oil on fruit salads to bring out the tropical flavors, or drizzle on grilled fish. When we visited, they showed us how to blend the oil with chocolate ice cream for a luxuriously smooth chocolate and orange dessert.
The final olive oil is infused with the enticing aroma of vanilla beans, which are pressed with the olives. Drizzle this delicious olive oil on fresh fruits or aged cheeses to elevate their flavor. It also pairs surprisingly well with seafood, especially crabcakes and scallops.
Basilippo is the prehistoric name for the region near the olive groves, meaning “village of the moon forest.” Olive trees have flourished on this land since the Bronze Age. Today the company, founded by the Morillo family, continues the ancient traditions of the area while using modern olive pressing equipment to preserve these wonderful oils at peak condition.
