Deep, lush fruit aromas combine with hints of black licorice. The palate is plush with more mineral overtones framed by dense stony fruits. Mencía is a rare grape producing high quality wines with floral and red fruit flavors somewhat akin to an aromatic Pinot Noir. From the stunning landscapes of Galicia, working these vineyards is extremely difficult, as the terraces in some areas are so steep. The grapes are all hand farmed. 91 points, Antonio Galloni
