2-Pack Fabada Asturiana Traditional Bean Stew
with Real Morcilla

$11.95  2 x 15 oz/ 425 g   / SU-01-2

Quantity:

The only authentic fabada is from Asturias. This is where the sons of Carlos Albo prepared their recipe. Just open the tin, warm it on the stove, and you will have a hot bowl of this famous soup in a matter of minutes.

Our generous 15 ounce tin of fabada is all natural: nothing but Asturian faba beans with the distinct seasoning of Asturian chorizo and black sausage. Following an old Asturian recipe, they season it with smoked pimentón paprika and local spices - including a pinch of salt and wheat flour for thickening.   (more info)

Asturias is the Celtic region on the rugged north Coast of Spain. They are proud of two things in particular. First they were the only people who were never conquered. Second, is their national stew made of faba beans.

The celebrated chef José Andrés puts it this way: 'When I visit my mother's family in my home town of Mieres, there is nothing better at a big reunion than a huge bowl of fabada. It's a dish from another era, when the men folk worked long in the mines and the fabada was the perfect way to replenish at the end of the day.'
