Anticucho is the Spanish word for small pieces of grilled skewered meats. Very similar to kebabs or brochettes, anticuchos are one of the most popular dishes in Peru. They are usually made with different types of beef, but any type of meat could be used. The skewered meat is often marinated in a pepper, vinegar and spice mixture prior to grilling and our Peruvian marinade is perfect for the job!
This Peruvian marinade by Belmont is well-suited for use on any type of meat you choose. Made with panca peppers, vinegar and spices, this sauce will help keep your anticuchos tender and full and flavor! For best results, marinate meat for at least an hour before grilling.
The tradition of anticuchos dates back to at least the Colonial era. To this day, it is still a very popular dish in Latin America, particularly in Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Anticuchos are not usually the main dish - they're typically served alongside an array of other grilled meats and side dishes.
