Like Beluga caviar or Kobe beef, "Jamón Iberico de Bellota" is the ultimate of its kind. This uniquely Spanish ham is made with Cerdo Ibérico, a breed of pig indigenous to the Iberian Peninsula which feast upon acorns, or "bellota." Allowed to roam freely on the Dehesa woodlands of western Spain, these lucky and unique animals produce Jamónes that are marbled with rich golden fat infused with the flavor of acorns. Remarkably, a good portion of which is mono-unsaturated, similar to healthy olive oil. Sliced paper-thin off the bone, it glistens at room temperature and provides an inimitable rich nutty flavor and tender texture. (more info)

Jamón Iberico de Bellota is the pride of Spain, and Spaniards consume the vast majority of the limited number of hams produced in their own country. Some producers have waiting lists for several years for their best products. We are proud to have brought North America the first taste of these extraordinary hams, which was our quest since we founded La Tienda more than ten years ago!

NOTE: Each ham will be weighed before shipping. Because of variation in the size of the Jamón, the price of the individual ham will vary. Therefore your final price will be calculated to correspond to its exact weight. Bone-in hams weigh on the average about 15 lb. and the per pound cost is $96/lb, so the final price will be about $1395, depending on the final weight.
