It is made by hand by a tiny family company located at the foot of the Pyrenees. They take no shortcuts on quality or flavor - the result is a fantastic marmalade that tastes like it is homemade.
Hundreds of raspberries and blackberries are chosen for their sweetness and slowly cooked with just sugar and lemon - nothing else. The seeds are then strained and the result is a thick, smooth marmalade that spreads enticingly across toasted bread.
Each jar is meticulously produced by Elena Esolano and Asunción Berroy (Elasun is a combination of their first names) in the town of Barbastro, in the heart of Somotano, Huesca, the fertile valley at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains.
This marmalade is 100% natural, made from local berries and cooked by hand. Each batch is a work of art, and each jar is decorated with a cloth flower representing the wonderful flavor of this marmalade.
