Butifarra is a juicy, flavorful sausage, perfect for the grill. Made from a recipe inspired by the farmhouse sausages of Cataluña in eastern Spain, it is flavored simply with sea salt and ground black pepper, allowing the full flavor of the free-range pork to come through. Cook on the grill, as a breakfast sausage, or add to traditional stews and soups.
Our sausage maker chops full cuts of pork by hand and does not use scraps or offal, making this the finest butifarra in America. Top quality black pepper and sea salt from Spain are the only seasonings. There are no nitrates, nitrites, preservatives or artificial colors needed here.
This artisan sausage is featured at Jaleo Restaurant, Washington D.C.'s premiere Spanish restaurant run by José Andrés, named Chef of the Year in 2011 by The James Beard Foundation.
Each package will contain 3 to 4 butifarra sausages. Keep frozen until you are ready to use, and thaw in the refrigerator.

"We were ordering Xmas gifts. Figured we'd treat ourselves too. This sausage was delicious. Flavorful without being overpowering. The meat is not as chunky as American Italian sausage usually is. Even though it is more blended it is not the consistency of cat food. I highly recommend this if you like sausage. We are going to buy this again."

"I'd never ordered anything perishable through the mail before & wondered how it was going to survive the trip. La Tienda packed it very securely in a styrofoam box with several refreezeable ice packs & it survived the trip plus sitting on my porch for a few hours until I got home. And the butifarra was wonderful!"
