Chistorra is a long, thin semi-soft chorizo that originated in the Basque Country. Traditionally cooked and served with eggs, chistorra is made of lightly smoked free-range organic pork and lots of sweet Pimentón de la Vera paprika.
Following traditional recipes, the D’Rouco family makes their chorizo from top quality ingredients. Natural casings are stuffed with ground gourmet pork and a mixture of wine vinegar, fresh garlic, imported smoked paprika and sea salt. No artificial ingredients or preservatives are used.
Chistorra is usually eaten with eggs, but it is also very good on the grill. We like to grill chistorra and serve it cut up as an appetizer or added to dishes like soups and paellas.
