Made with raw sheep's milk and aged for a minimum of 6 months, Dehesa de Los Llanos Manchego has a sharp, full flavor and a firm, almost flaky texture. Sold in convenient 1 pound wedges, it is best enjoyed as a tapa with bread, fruit or membrillo and a glass of full-bodied red wine.
Dehesa de Los Llanos makes their Manchego cheese with raw Manchega sheep's milk produced on their 10,000 hectare farm. All of the food used to feed the sheep is also grown on the same farm. This particular cheese has been awarded three Gran Selección prizes in 2007, 2009 and 2010. The Gran Selección is an annual agricultural food competition held by the regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha - where the company is based. This Manchego also bears the Queso Manchego Denomination of Origin seal, which guarantees its quality and authenticity.
