In the old city of Oviedo in Asturias resides the venerable confectionery store called La Mallorquina. Since 1929 the owners have produced some of Spain's finest cookies and pastries. By far their finest invention was the cookies that carry their name. Mallorquinas are an incredible combination of wafer thin butter almond brittle and milk chocolate.
Spain's famous marcona almonds are ground and blended with real cream, sugar and flour, then baked into thin round crisps. They are then brushed with a generous dose of milk chocolate creating a perfect marriage of rich, smooth chocolate and crunchy almonds.
