Made by Yurrita in the artisan tradition in Oikina, a village in the Basque country, these Croquetas de Mejillones are truly handmade by local women using high quality, all-natural ingredients. The filling is made with a mixture of Galician mussels, extra virgin olive oil and fresh whole milk delivered daily by a nearby dairy farm. The mussels are harvested from the cool water estuaries of Galicia, a region known for its extraordinary seafood.
It's fast and easy to enjoy a taste of true Spanish tapas at home with these croquetas. Using a deep fryer or a pan filled with at least 2 inches of oil preheated to 375 degrees, cook in small batches for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the croquetas to a serving plate with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
Keep frozen until ready to cook.
