Our artisan Croquetas de Mejillones Tigre are a unique twist on the classic croqueta - the same savory filling as our regular mussel croquetas is stuffed into mussel shells and then coated with the traditional croqueta breading. This special presentation is sure to delight all of the guests at your next dinner party!
Artisan produced in Oikina, a village in the Basque region of Spain, local women make these Croquetas de Mejillones by hand at Yurrita using only high quality, all-natural ingredients. The filling is made with a mixture of Galician mussels, a touch of cayenne pepper, extra virgin olive oil and fresh whole milk. The mussels are harvested from the cool water estuaries of Galicia, a region known for its extraordinary seafood, and the milk is delivered daily by a nearby creamery.
Enjoy a taste of true Spanish tapas at home with these croquetas in just minutes. Using a deep fryer or a pan filled with at least 2 inches of oil preheated to 375 degrees, cook in small batches for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the croquetas to a serving plate with a slotted spoon and serve immediately.
