Holiday Sweets from Spain
Spain has a special tradition when it comes to Holiday sweets, most commonly served at Christmas, New Years and Three Kings' Day, but enjoyed to a lesser extent throughout the year. Many of its tastiest confections descend from sweets introduced during the time of Moorish occupation. Almonds and honey play a central role in these delicious cookies, brittles and candies. Traditionally these turrones, mantecados, polvorones and mazapans are carefully presented on a decorative plate for friends and family to enjoy.
